Summer planningWhoa, I have not been on blogger for way too long, what is this new interface?! Very minimal! I like it. Anyway, I hope everyone has been having a fun summer so far. Luke and I have just solidified our vacation plans and I am so excited. We have never really been on a trip together before, besides weekends to see our parents and day trips, so it is a small milestone for us. We booked an apartment on <a href="http://airbnb.com/">airbnb.com</a> in San Francisco for a week. The apartment reminds me a lot of ours, so I think we are going to be very happy and settled. I always like the idea of going someplace and pretending I live there haha. If any San Franciscan's have recommendations I would really love to hear (eating/shopping/bars for 20 somethings/activities etc.!) Has anyone ever used airbnb before? Browsing through it makes me think I will never stay in a hotel ever again. It's really amazing! We leave the end of July, so we have a bit of waiting to do, but I don't like to rush summer, so the waiting is OK. Here is a little dream packing list for my trip :) <br />

<center><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Bianca.jpg" /><br>1. <a href="http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/bianca/">Bianca</a> - Bleecker St. between Elizabeth St. and Bowery<br />
<br />I don't know how this missed my previous two NYC posts. It might very well be my favorite restaurant. My friend Rachel took me here for the first time last year on a double date and Luke and I have been many times since. I don't know how this place stayed under my radar for so long since I work right by it and it is right in the heart of NYU-land. Bianca is a very authentic Italian restaurant on Bleecker St. and the food is unbelievably tasty. I always get the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese. And it is CHEAP. Like, really cheap! You can get a nice bottle of wine for $25 and the entrees are mostly under $10. There can be a wait, but they send you to the bar next door and the very charming maitre d' will come and find you. <br />
<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/tophat.jpg" /><br />
2. <a href="http://nymag.com/shopping/askaclerk/70805/">TOP HAT</a> - Broome St. between Ludlow St. and Orchard St.<br />
I remember walking home to my old chinatown apartment one night and walking past this place. It was like this perfect store, with perfect paper goods and ceramics and all kinds of beautifully designed exports, that also advertised toboggan rentals out front. It's one of those places you can't <i>not</i> get something every time you go. And to entice you more, there is a huge selection of wooden bird whistles! I once waited over an hour for my friend Tyler to finish up trying every single whistle (don't do that). Perfect gifts for kinda everyone. <br />
<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/SS_Brookfarm_006.jpg" /><br />
3. Brook Farm General Store - South 6th between Berry and Wythe in Williamsburg<br />
Another fantastic store I have been going to a bit lately! I found their website online this summer, before I realized they had a shop in Williamsburg. They have a very nicely edited selection of kitchen wares and blankets, baskets and other home things that are on the inexpensive side. Definitely check out their website, it is great for gifts, but I really recommend going to the shop. (photos via <a href="http://sunday-suppers.blogspot.com/">Sunday Suppers</a>) <br />

I can't remember who he opened for. It was one of those many magical moments when I first arrived in New York hearing him play. A few weeks later, it could have been less than that, my new friends and I invited ourselves to an intimate house party at a loft in south Williamsburg where he played with Doveman and The Robot Ate Me. It was funny, because we definitely weren't invited, it was a very small group of their friends there, but we drank and danced and I think they were excited we came. <P> <br><br><center><iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5ReicnrffpA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/n822243_37377276_544.jpg><br><br><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/n822243_37377237_9566-1.jpg><br><br><br><br /><br /><br />ps. just did some research in my gmail - he opened for deerhoof, coincidentally I bought the tickets 6 years ago today :)<P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Screenshot2011-09-26at103942AM.png></center>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-62626400401485490182011-09-25T18:25:00.000-07:002012-06-27T14:39:43.905-07:00quiet backstage<center><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/ADetacher_DossierJournal2.jpg><p><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/DSC_0106.jpg><p><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/DSC_0200-1.jpg><p><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/DSC_0171.jpg><p>Beautful photos via <a href="http://dossierjournal.com/style/fashion/chronicles-of-ny-fashion-week-spring-2012-karen-walker-a-detacher-y-3/">Dossier Journal</a> <br>See the whole collection <a href="http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2012RTW-ADETACH">here</a></center>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-84320252699261573842011-07-30T14:17:00.000-07:002011-08-23T05:29:36.140-07:00Lady Lamb and the BeekeeperI saw her last night open for Beirut in Portland, Maine and I was pretty much in awe as soon as she started singing. I have had a very very busy past couple of weeks - I moved to Williamsburg last Saturday with my boyfriend. I still don't have internet, but there is a super cute cafe near my new place called "2nd stop" that I have been going to quite a bit. It reminds me of a coffee shop near my grandparents house on Cape Cod, which furthers my feeling that I'm on vacation and that this is only temporary. It has been an amazing change so far. My block is so quiet and breezy and there are so many trees. I missed Brooklyn so much!<P><center><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/99640009.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/99640010.jpg height=700><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/99640015.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/99640013.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/99640014.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/99640011.jpg><P>At the community garden on Ave B and 7th st. with Luke and Jessy</center>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-7467804991524183302011-06-13T11:43:00.001-07:002011-08-23T05:30:19.291-07:00CHARTREUSESo happy that this shade is turning up in clothing form. This morning after a lovely Balthazar bench breakfast with my old roomie Caitlin, I walked to Opening Ceremony to be reminded how much I love Cacharel in the form of a Chartreuse cotton dress. Cacharel has become one of my favorite favorite labels in the past couple of years because of their crazy cute liberty prints and color palette. Once all my apartment business is taken care of, and I can loosen up my pockets a little bit, I really hope it still is in the store. <center><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture1-4.png><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture5-5.png><P>(Cacharel, Miu Miu and Proenza Schouler SS11, all photos via style.com)<P><img src=http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a354/cshannahan/firstdigital.jpg width=500><P>and for good measure, my sixteen year old self (note I am much older than this now) in my chartreuse painted bedroom (it is still this color!) </center>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-80585104015795207242011-06-06T16:35:00.000-07:002011-06-06T16:44:16.386-07:00Green<center><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/deer2.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/70670022-1.jpg></center>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-71349910158598552732011-05-28T14:23:00.000-07:002011-08-23T05:30:34.809-07:00illllooooovvvvveeeeesummmmmerrra little instagram with my girl Lindsay in prospect park. And when I turned the corner I came across a storefront with no sign and the window full of beautiful cactus plants, and I peeked in and saw an array of gorgeous leather shoes and bags. After some digging, I found out it is called <a href="http://www.abknyc.com/abk/abk.html">ABK</a> and the owner, Alya Kazakevich hand makes all of the leather goods. I am going to try to go back today with Luke. It is odd and really exciting coming across anything like this south of Canal street. A little treasure on my end of the neighborhood <center><P><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture1-2.png></table><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture6-3.png><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture5-3.png></table><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture2-6.png></table><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture12-3.png height=478><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture13-2.png></table><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture9-2.png><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture11-2.png height=439></table><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture3-3.png><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture10-2.png height=334></table></center>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com17tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-75093431554058891622011-04-07T17:41:00.001-07:002011-04-24T08:53:19.690-07:00ANAISE/the cutest new e-shopToday was the launch of a very beautiful new e-shop called <a href="http://www.shopanaise.com/">ANAISE</a>. In July my boyfriend and I are moving in together and I am crazy about these cups and pretty tablecloths. Luke and I were actually talking <i>about</i> tablecloths just yesterday (we were!) and these are the top of my wishlist. The selection of dresses and everything else is so wonderfully curated. I don't have much to say besides you should check it out and spread the word! <P>My wishlist at the moment:<table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/akiko_custard_2__73161_zoom.jpg><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/anaise1.jpg></table><a href=http://www.shopanaise.com/products/Akiko-Graham-Custard-Cup.html>Akiko Graham custard cup</a> $14, with the <a href=http://www.shopanaise.com/products/FOG-LINEN-WORK-TABLE-CLOTH%252d-GRAY%7B47%7DWHITE-.html>aforementioned linen tablecloth</a> $60<P><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/LC-bloomers-pink__32481_zoom.jpg><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/001_web__59345_zoom.jpg></table>crazy cute <a href="http://www.shopanaise.com/products/LOUP-CHARMANT-BLOOMERS%252dBLACK.html">Loup voile cotton undies</a> $36<p><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Fog-Linen-Wooden-Knife__36285_zoom.jpg><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/A-Detacher-Dallah-Dress-3__89425_zoom.jpg></table><a href="http://www.shopanaise.com/products/FOG-LINEN-WORK-BUTTER-KNIFE-.html">Fog Linen butter knife</a> $7 and <a href="http://www.shopanaise.com/products/A-Detacher-Dallah-Dress.html">A Détacher dress</a> $649<P><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Mociun-Swimsuit2__14458_zoom.jpg><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/tannis-hegan1__94787_zoom.jpg></table><a href="http://www.shopanaise.com/products/MOCIUN-TRIANGLE-ONE-PIECE.html">most perfect onepiece</a> from Mociun and <a href="http://www.shopanaise.com/products/TANNIS-HEGAN-SMALL-LEATHER-CASE.html">a small leather shoulder bag by Tannis Hegan</a>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-30814699721861632922011-02-20T16:40:00.000-08:002011-04-24T08:53:48.176-07:00Ohhh my feelings are confirmedI have never posted so much in a day, and while forgetting that, duh, it is London fashion week right now, I was excited to see the <a href="http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/F2011RTW-JWANDERSON">J.W. I am nuts about the chunkyness of those brogues with the hairy bits and the wooly pieces and how wearable everything is while still maintaining that something that keeps it special.<p> <img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture3-2.png><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture7-3.png><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture12-2.png>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-37084151920243111112011-02-20T12:19:00.000-08:002011-04-24T08:54:08.717-07:00Backstage<center><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Adetacher-1.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/adetach2.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/A_detacher_412.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/A_detacher_401.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/A_detacher_371.jpg><P><img src=http://dossierjournal.com/style/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/adetacher1.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/A_detacher_302.jpg><P><img src=http://dossierjournal.com/style/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/A_detacher_092.jpg><P>gorgeous backstage photos from the <a href="http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/F2011RTW-ADETACH/">ADétacher</a> show via <a href="http://dossierjournal.com">Dossier Journal</a></center>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-56290802287997369272011-02-20T11:21:00.000-08:002011-04-24T08:54:35.272-07:00♥JWANDERSON♥My introduction to J.W. Anderson was actually last fall when I met a super cute girl wearing the cuuutest <a href="http://www.huntingandcollecting.com/shop/women-clothes/545-pleated-silk-skirt.html">navy pleated skirt</a> and <a href=http://www.huntingandcollecting.com/shop/t-shirts/544-lilac-flower-t-shirt.html>tee-shirt with a heart made of fat lilac embroidered flowers</a>, but I didn't realize at the time, and I never asked her who the designer was. I just remember loving those pieces, and then about a month ago I saw that same teeshirt on <a href=http://us.asos.com/search/pgeSearch.aspx?hrd=1&q=j.w.+anderson>ASOS</a> and my affection was reactivated. I'm crazy about his new lookbook (which features Hannah Noble, one of the most lovely and funny models I have actually had the pleasure of working with) and the clothes look so cool. I wish I knew more stores in the states that carried him, because at the moment I only know asos.com...<p><center><object id="videoPlayer659309" width="390" height="309" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.dazeddigital.com/swf/player-licensed.swf" style="visibility: visible"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"><param name="flashvars" value="file=http://pseudo01.hddn.com/vod/dazeddigital.dazedgroup1/videos/659309.flv&bufferlength=5&skin=http://www.dazeddigital.com/swf/dazed.xml&id=videoPlayer659309&controlbar=over&autostart=false&plugins=madlytics-1&madlytics.callbacktype=URL&madlytics.callbacktypemethod=POST&madlytics.completedpoint=50&madlytics.callbacklistener=/view/StreamingAnalytics.aspx"></object><p><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/658609.jpg><P><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/658564.jpg><P><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/658632.jpg width=400><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/658623.jpg width=400><tr><td><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/658578-1.jpg width=400><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/658587.jpg width=400></table><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/658645.jpg><p><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/658654.jpg><p>(video and photos via <a href="http://www.dazeddigital.com/fashion/gallery/19/9678/0/jw-anderson-exclusive-aw11-preview-film">Dazed Digital</a>)<P></center>And while i'm on it....Another video of Hannah from McQ, just because I adore this girl...<br><center><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/17438862" width="600" height="337" frameborder="0"></iframe></center>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-72263145487237360292011-02-17T17:35:00.000-08:002011-04-24T08:55:07.691-07:00who knows who cares<center><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/19651796" width="600" height="337.5" frameborder="0"></iframe><p><a href="http://vimeo.com/19651796">Local Natives | Who Knows Who Cares | A Take Away Show</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/blogotheque">La Blogotheque</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p></center><P>Still getting my bearings from Fashion Week, today was my first real relaxing day, I've barely looked at any shows to any real depth, but I can say that the show I worked on went amazingly well, and I am really happy. It's funny, that its so easy to pay attention to the first few of the week (I end up y'know, really looking hard at all the looks for Christian Siriano), and once it gets into full force it can be quite overwhelming....Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-75882748175076444022011-02-11T05:33:00.000-08:002013-03-18T14:09:40.939-07:00DAY1 / Rachel Comey<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture2-4.png><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/Picture4-2.png><p><center>Favorite looks from Rachel Comey's show yesterday. I am a super inexperienced show-goer so I was really excited to be there. The dress in the middle/bottom row totally stole my heart, it just hung on her shoulders and the pleats bloused open in the back when she walked...kind of wishing this was for the summer collection. I was really into the hair too, all piled up on the top and straight down in the back. <P>(photos all from <a href="http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/F2011RTW-RCOMEY">style.com</a>)</center>Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-84164022092598979262011-02-10T06:14:00.000-08:002011-08-11T20:59:21.483-07:00i might need to get these somehow<center><table><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/IMG_3146.jpg><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/IMG_3143.jpg><tr><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/IMG_3139.jpg><td><img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/caitlinshannahan/IMG_3136.jpg></table>COSMIC WONDER LIGHTSOURCE insanely cute floral shoes via <a href="http://maryamnassirzadeh.com">Maryam Nassir Zadeh</a><P></center>i'm sitting in the cafe i go to most mornings before work and they are playing the song "something happens and i'm head over heels....." and it felt lamely appropriate to mention when i'm posting about shoes, ha ha ....uh..anyway, happy fashion week everyone! is anyone going to any shows?Caitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09362293717543736937noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6612417191849390490.post-26103566615948145782011-01-31T09:22:00.000-08:002011-04-24T08:56:40.771-07:00oo-oo-oo-ooo-ooo- backdate thisFaves from SS11/I can't believe FW shows start in a little over a week/I kind of feel like I'm in the calm before the storm at the moment and I am always a little overwhelmed to go through every show as its happening.
