Hello! Summer planning

Whoa, I have not been on blogger for way too long, what is this new interface?! Very minimal! I like it. Anyway, I hope everyone has been having a fun summer so far. Luke and I have just solidified our vacation plans and I am so excited. We have never really been on a trip together before, besides weekends to see our parents and day trips, so it is a small milestone for us. We booked an apartment on airbnb.com in San Francisco for a week. The apartment reminds me a lot of ours, so I think we are going to be very happy and settled. I always like the idea of going someplace and pretending I live there haha. If any San Franciscan's have recommendations I would really love to hear (eating/shopping/bars for 20 somethings/activities etc.!) Has anyone ever used airbnb before? Browsing through it makes me think I will never stay in a hotel ever again. It's really amazing! We leave the end of July, so we have a bit of waiting to do, but I don't like to rush summer, so the waiting is OK. Here is a little dream packing list for my trip :)

the weather this weekend in the city was crazy beautiful. everyone seemed to be outside taking advantage of the freak 70 degree string of days in mid march. my sisters were visiting and we napped in mccarren park in the sunshine and girls next to us were sunbathing (still wayyy to early for me...though i did buy 2 bathing suits this week! i am not ready to expose myself). there was hardly a place in the grass to put a blanket down. i'm escaping to charlotte nc with my boyfriend for the weekend, but for now back to rain and cold for the next month or so...

Dream girl

I just found these gorgeous backstage photos from Lyell's Spring 08 show by Tamara Schlesinger. I rarely dress like a Lyell girl, but I have a weakness for this collection every season...the few pieces I have are some of my favorite things.

Hullo Violet

I don't know much about Electric Feathers besides that I would be incredibly happy to wear pretty much anything from this collection and that it's from my ex-town of Brooklyn (I am now a Manhattan-lady...still not sure how I feel about it...). I have known about the label for a little while now. A girl came into A Détacher and was wearing one of (her?) really gorgeous jumpsuits. But either way...I am sure you will be happy to have heard of this label if you haven't already. The top dress is my absolute favorite.

I went to the opening of "Portugal" two nights ago at the amazing gallery/shop KIOSK the other night. This is one of my favorite places in the city. It is probably one of the few diamonds in the rough that exist in the terrible stretch of SOHO by Broadway. Every few months they open with a new exhibition of things they found in a specific place or country (& sell them). This time its Portugal. If you're in the city you should definitely check it out! Look for the pink neon arrow pointing up an inconspicuous staircase on the NW corner of Spring&Broadway. I am already thinking about Xmas and there are too many perfect things here to give.

I walked into Lyell this afternoon, I have been passing by it every morning on the way to work and peeking in. The few pieces i have from there are definitely the prettiest and girliest items of clothing I own, like the sort of things that make you feel pretty, which I never think is a bad thing.
